Bride & Groom - Elise Hulcher & Derek Olszanowski

Elise Hulcher
Elise was born in the town of Ann Arbor, Michigan just miles from the Michigan Football Stadium. Elise is a middle child with her brother, Matt being 2 years older, and sister, Michelle, 1 year younger. Her parents, Larry and Vicky always ensured they had a close (not only in age) and active family. Growing up in such an energetic family, Elise quickly transitioned out of being shy at a young age. She spent most of her summers traveling with her family in the motor home across the U.S., and making waves in their boat, the Bayliner. The Hulchers were able to visit every State in the Nation except for three. Elise moved to Maryland with her family when she was 13 years old and upon high school graduation, she attended Salisbury University, where she later recruited her sister to go. Elise and her best friends started up a Women’s Lacrosse Team and also participated in the Surf and Field Hockey Club. Elise’ junior year of college she studied abroad in Australia for a little time down under before setting out for the real world. The real world brought Elise her first job with Ryan Homes. After selling “the dream” for Ryan Homes, Elise made a career change into recruiting where she met her “dream come true,” Derek. More than two years later, Elise is still with Accountants Inc, breaking into new business and walking through life with her future husband.

Derek Olszanowski

Derek grew up in Erie, PA which offers not only a great school district filled with competitive sports and academics, but also a beautiful town with the lake and beaches at your finger tips. Derek grew up with his loving parents, Laura and Wally; and later was blessed with a younger sister, Kelly and his Step-Dad Ken. Derek traveled the United States with his Dad in his Semi-Truck and was spoiled with not only the great things that Wally gave Derek, but also with the lessons for life that his Dad taught him. Wally passed away when Derek was 16 years old and Derek went on to live full time with his Mom, Sister, and Ken. Derek continued to excel with his soccer, basketball, and running track. He later attended Indiana University Pennsylvania University where he played soccer, was an R.A., and a Youth Pastor. Derek’s consistent energy and optimism for life shows through not only in the professional awards he later received, but also in College when he won the University’s talent contest and was awarded “Mr. I.U.P.”. After graduating college, Derek worked for the Streets Department of Erie, and later worked for Immigration assisting others in obtaining a better life. Derek then moved to Maryland in search of “greener pastures” where he found not only a true passion for his career with Bozzuto, a Property Management Company, but also his true love, Elise.

As fate would have it, Elise and Derek, ages 23 and 25 years of age, moved to the same town in Baltimore, MD. Derek was working as a leasing agent at the same apartment complex where the two lived. The two did not meet until they bumped into each other in the Giant grocery store parking lot recognizing each other’s familiar faces from where they lived. It was there that a solid friendship flourished into a loving relationship. Just 2 years after their meeting, Elise and Derek found themselves on a famous little bridge in Central Park, New York. To Elise’s complete surprise, she looked over and Derek was on one knee with a beautiful diamond ring.
